How to automate Tradier in four steps
- 1 Authorize Whispertrades at Tradier
- From the Brokers page, open the Tradier connection and sign in on Tradier's own login. Your Tradier password never reaches Whispertrades. Finish in the same browser within 20 minutes, and your account shows up with an Active status.
- 2 Build the strategy as rules
- Choose the structure, then set entries, strike selection, profit targets, stops, adjustments, and the schedule in the web builder. If you have it in code today, the rules are usually a direct translation.
- 3 Backtest it first
- Prove the rules against years of intraday options backtesting data before a dollar is at stake. A finished backtest converts into a bot with the same rules.
- 4 Rehearse on paper, then point it at Tradier
- Run the bot on a Whispertrades paper account, where nothing reaches Tradier, to confirm it behaves. Paper fills are simulated, so it is a rehearsal of the rules, not a forward test. When it checks out, clone it to your Tradier account as a live bot and enable it.

What to know before you connect Tradier
- Commissions and fees are not imported. Tradier does not expose them to connected apps, so your position history on Whispertrades shows gross results; check the net figure at Tradier.
- Partial fills show per order. Tradier reports fills at the order level rather than line by line, so when an order fills in pieces, Whispertrades shows the order's fill, not each piece.
- No sandbox needed. You rehearse a bot on a Whispertrades paper account instead of wiring up Tradier's developer sandbox, and every other bot feature is available on Tradier accounts.

Tradier algo trading without writing code
A do-it-yourself Tradier bot is never finished: there is a server to keep online, API tokens to refresh, order handling to get right for every edge case, and nobody watching it at 3 a.m. Whispertrades carries all of that.
